Shy Wasp - female

Shy Wasp - Female
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
April 2, 2011
Size: unrecorded
This ain't much to go on, I know, but she wasn't feeling too extroverted that day. I can't make out much from the angles, but maybe someone who has more knowledge/experience can figure it out. This is the only time I have seen this wasp, but it has familiar features, so I figure it to be somewhat common/widespread.
Edit: Found on trunk of sycamore tree.
