Explanation of Names
Greek eu-(ευ)- "good, well-" + glossa (γλωσσα)- "tongue"; "well-tongued". This refers to the long tongue.
Numbers
One species makes it into our area
Range
Tropics. One species is now established in South Florida, and has been recorded for Brownsville on the southern tip of Texas.
