great photo - do you think the darker gray on the apical 4th or so of the wing is natueal? I haven't seen that before. perhaps a shadow or wet portion of the wing? I don't know how to differentiate Nectopsyche adults.

I don't believe that the dark portion of the wing is from either water or shadow. I submitted the photo to Troutnut.com, and Roger Rohrbeck suggested the following: "...my belief is that what you are seeing is shorter hind wings being overlapped by longer fore wings, and that this becomes more obvious under certain lighting conditions."
