Ground Beetle - Agonum cupripenne

Ground Beetle - Agonum cupripenne
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
May 5, 2006
Size: 10mm
The shiny elytra really stood out in the sun, while this beetle was sunning itself in the path.

Carabidae: Agonum cupripenne
The darker area on top is usually more of a metallic reddish (probably lost or muted for some photographic reason).

It was really metallic reddish
The flash can affect that. If I take the picture without the flash, the shine would be there, but the picture wouldn't be sharp.
