Identification
Adult: forewing deeply scalloped and with hooked apex, shaded with dark brown in male, yellowish to reddish-brown in female; PM line and small reniform spot on forewing similar in both sexes

Habitat
Deciduous forests; apparently, males are rarely attracted to light
Season
adults fly from April to September
Food
Larvae feed on leaves of oak.
Life Cycle
Larvae build open-ended cases (sacks) in which they overwinter.
