ID
Orchestomerus cf. ulkei Dietz Seems a bit too light in color but I still think it is correct. Side view and ventral views would have helped.

Orchestomerus wickhami
This is Orchestomerus wickhami. I have just seen type of Orchestomerus ulkei and it is something else and not an Orchestomerus.

lovely; i'f you'll excuse me, i need some quality time with it.

Absolutely!
I understand. For the life of me, I'll never understand why someone doesn't make weevil plush toys. Hmmm...

...or bot flies, for that matter

LOL
Looks like a guinea pig. I'm thinking we may be on to something, for real.

Orchestomerus new species
Further update: We've dissected males of the south Texas Orchestomerus wickhami and more northern specimens and they are different species. Turns out the more northern ones are a new species associated with Parthenocissus (Virginia Creeper) and the southern are O. wickhami and associated with Cissus.

Creeper
I know I have an abundance of Virginia Creeper and a lot of wild grape, just not sure about if any is Cissus
