Laccophilus ? - Laccophilus proximus

Laccophilus ? - Laccophilus proximus
Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, USA
July 4, 2007
Size: 4.25 mm
Coll. P Morton.

I'm assuming its Laccophilus but this one is outside my comfort zone for giving it a species name.

Laccophilus proximus
Similar to L. maculosus but smaller in size and has the pale spots less 'highlighted' by the surrounding darker irrorations (freckling).
