Deer fly - Chrysops flavidus - female

Deer fly - Chrysops flavidus - Female
Lady Lake, Lake County, Florida, USA
April 22, 2006
Size: 9mm
Not sure about this one, too many look alike to me. Came to light, chilled and released.

Chrysops flavidus
A perfectly exposed image showing typical colouration for the species. An earlier image in the guide (#38279) is way underexposed making for a very dark-looking fly.

Thank you
very much for your help on this.
