Board, V.V. and Burke, H.R. (1971) Observations on the life history and habits of Endalus celatus Burke (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). The Coleopterists Bulletin, 25(2): 63-65.

Abstract

The life history and habits of Endalus celatus Burke on Marsilea mucronata A. Br. in Texas are discussed. Eggs are deposited in the sporocarps of this plant, with the developing larvae feeding on the spores. Pupation occurs in the larval feeding cavity. The weevil larvae are parasitized by Trimeromicrus sp.

ABSTRACT

The six species of Lissorhoptrus LeConte known previously from Noth [sic] America north of Mexico are treated taxonomically.

Two subspecies are raised in rank to species, Lissorhoptrus insularis Kuschel and Lissorhoptrus longitarsis Kuschel, new rank, and one species, Lissorhoptrus robbinsorum O'Brien, new species, is described.
