Ant mimic bug nymph?

Ant mimic bug nymph?
In Westwood - elevation 5100ft, Lassen County, California, USA
May 23, 2006
Kind of looks like an ant, but I think it is a bug nymph of some sort.
Any ID help appreciated - Thanks!

Maybe Alydidae?
With the wide head I'd guess Alydidae (Broad-Headed Bug), of which a good many nymphs are ant mimics. Keep in mind, however, that I'm far from an expert.

That was my first thought, too...
...but some mirids also play the ant-mimicking game:

There may be others in other families, too, for all I know. I'll be interested in seeing where the experts place this one. :)
