Bee-like Robber Fly - Laphria thoracica

Bee-like Robber Fly - Laphria thoracica
Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
June 11, 2004
I used Giff Beaton's Robber Flies of the Southeast for reference. Note the black beard, it could be L. thoracica. Same individual as:

Laphria
This appears to be Laphria thoracica. All legs are black haired. Mystax and beard are black and the abdomen sometimes has some yellow (as here) on the 2nd 3rd and 4th abdominal segments.
