H. stagnalis
Paler than usual as this is a partly teneral male specimen. The dissected aedeagus matches quite nicely to the pre-existing photo in the guide.

Hydrocolus
Hydroporus generally has a characteristic dorsal vestiture of setae. Also the hind margin of the metacoxal processes are straight (this one has a sinuate hind margin, incised in the middle-see ventral view). Species ID probably not possible from these images..perhaps you have kept it for Don? I won't mind a specimen either :)
