Size: about 2" (body only)
This fellow (or gal?) was hanging out on my porch this evening, and I would like to find out what particular species of wasp this might be.

And it's definitely a gal. That "tail" is her ovipositor. She'll use it to lay eggs in the tunnels of wood-boring insects, on which her young will feed.
