I put a couple beetle-like mites of the species I originally thought this beetle was into the same deli container for a photo session. The static charges on the container surface make it very difficult for creatures this small to walk, so they are desperate for something to cling to. In this case, beetle and mite more or less clung to each other.
Those are millimeter marks in the background.
