New smallest beetle, plus mites! - Bacanius punctiformis

New smallest beetle, plus mites! - Bacanius punctiformis
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
May 14, 2006
Size: approx. .676 - .804 mm
Nice shot of the pygidium (hind end) shape on the histerid.

You'll notice that even mites have mites, to recoin a line from a famous little poem about fleas.

There are limits.
They're in my lens ;-) That tiny pale mite measures .21mm, although it seems even smaller. The big one is about 1.1mm

I've enjoyed seeing your New Mexico images. No doubt I'll get one or two myself in August.
