The abdomen much darker than the thorax suggests this genus, but the specimen is paler than usual (freshly molted?)

I have no idea why this ground-dwelling, flightless planthopper individual would be found on a tree!

For your information, that black locust tree was very young and I found this hopper not so far from the ground!
