went back and found this exact leaf, have not found anymore yet. I have it in a ziplock with a small wet tissue. probably not the best way, but we will see what emerges.

A Ziploc with damp tissue is fine. As you undoubtedly have seen by now, the larva cuts out part of the gall and makes a case out of it. It will spend until next spring as a larva inside the case, before pupating and finally emerging as an adult in late April or early May. Once the weather turns cool in fall, put the rearing container in the fridge or on an enclosed porch or other unheated area, then bring it back indoors at the end of March. Good luck.
