Eastern Striped Cricket -
Miogryllus saussurei
-
Bodcau campground, Louisiana, USA
April 17, 2011
Size: 10mm
This tiny cricket was singing enough for us to track him to his location. There were many calling in the dry leaves. Found in lowland forests on the North edge of Louisiana.

This looks like a Striped Ground Cricket
Miogryllus saussurei
. This is a nymph, so he wasn't the one doing the singing, but the ones that were may have been his kin.

That's interesting.
My wife rumaged through the dead leaves where she heard the singing (her ears are sharper than mine) and this is who she came up with!
