long-horned bees - Svastra duplocincta - male

long-horned bees - Svastra duplocincta - Male
Shaw Butte in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
June 11, 2011
Size: about honeybee size
These were on a brittlebush in the morning shade. As the sun rose over the hill, they started moving and flew off one at a time. I sat there about 15 min taking pix. When done about 1/2 had flown away.

Wow, neat shot!
I think these are long-horned bees in the tribe Eucerini, and not leafcutter bees.

Thanks.
I had no idea but leaf cutter was the closest I could find. But I think you're right.
