The spherical web is also distinctive. It is built by egg-carrying females (the cluster of round white objects in her mouth is her egg mass).

Holocnemus pluchei
it's introduced from the Mediterranean...pretty much the only large Pholcid on the W. Coast with a colorful pattern.
