Puzzled
To my untrained eye it looks more like some of the Dasysyrphus in the guide than to Eupeodes, but then again, I don't know much about this.

 
Confuses me, too.
I'd swear I've seen this somewhere else and hope to find it again.

And I think it belongs in the genus Eupeodes, a female.
