Identification

eastern spp.: D. elongata lacks the M3 cell; the other two can be distinguished based on abdominal markings: broad bands across most tergites in D. fasciventris, smaller spots in D. rufithorax

NA & Eurasia; in our area, 6 spp. in the west (esp. CA) & 4 in the east(1)

Remarks

Male eyes holoptic, female eyes separate.
