Podisus nymph, testing out a key - Podisus serieventris - Columbia, Grindstone Park, Boone County, Missouri, USA July 2, 2011 Size: 10 mm
So, my little friend here molted into an adult. Annnd... whaaa? A new (for me) species of Podisus!? I'm not just fooling myself into thinking this isn't P. mac, am I? The spines look all wrong. It still looks somewhat teneral, so I'll take some more shots later, but the ventral looks off too. I've never actually seen a different species of Podisus in person, so I figure this is P. brevispinus, but would definitely like some confirmation. Thanks!
Also, looks like I'll need to work with those nymphal keys more. Yeesh.
