Checkerspot? But which? - Chlosyne nycteis

Checkerspot? But which? - Chlosyne nycteis
Williamson County, Texas, USA
May 25, 2006
Size: ~ 2-2.5 cm
This small butterfly, sunning itself in dappled shade in the creek woods, spent most of its time with wings folded high. The top of the wing pattern looks sort of like a Gorgone Checkerspot, but the underwing looks more like a Silvery Checkerspot. According to my regional guide, the Silvery is more common here...but the top of the wing doesn't look right for that (or, I'm just not familiar enough with the small patterned butterflies...note that the tips of the antennae clubs are orange, which in the book I'm using is characteristic of another checkerspot that isn't in our area (usually, anyway.)

I'll be linking a picture of the underwing and another of the top of the wings.

Silvery
I'm thinking Silvery Checkerspot but I'm not sure.

Thanks...
I'm going with Silvery on the basis of the regional guide's statement that it's abundant in this county, pictures I've seen here at BugGuide.net, your opinion (more educated than mine) and...what else could it be? The underside of the wings does have a silvery glint in full sun (I've seen it again, in the same part of the woods, but didn't get any better pictures on the second try.)
