Checkerspot? But which? - Chlosyne nycteis

Checkerspot? But which? - Chlosyne nycteis
Williamson County, Texas, USA
May 25, 2006
Size: ~ 2-2.5 cm
Unfortunately, the only time this butterfly landed and flattened both wings, it was not completely visible to the camera (and trying to move in spooked it.) However, this gives a clear view of the hind wing markings and the central part of the forewings, and the other "top of insect" picture gets the wingtips, so I hope this helps with its ID.
