I think I found it. The palps gave it away and size it right. Also note the banded antennae.

Dorsal View? How Tiny?
Do you have a dorsal view and how big was it about? Under 4 mm, 3 mm?

Sorry I have no better pics or info on it.

~4mm
I got the image. Thanks for humoring me!

Your camera has a 1.5 crop factor which as I understand means that the sensor is reduced in size from 35mm x 24mm to 25m x 16mm. The moth takes up 1/8 of the shorter side of the sensor or about 2mm. Had you used enough extension to get a 1:1 image to sensor ratio, the moth would be 2mm. But you didn’t use extension tubes. The power of a Nikon Micro Nikkor 55 mm 1:28 at it’s closest focus is 0.5x. That puts the moth at 4mm and I assume you were at the closest focus.

Pseudopostega is therefore possible. I'm not sure about the squared off wings and that they are held tent like not flat. Also, the eyecaps are not big. These concerns may be explained by this being a side view and that the antennae are raised. One thing I noticed is that it looks like the palps are wide apart and curve in instead of up but I am not sure that those are actually the palps.

Can you email me the original image file? Do you recall what lens you used and if you had extension tubes? This would give me a better idea of size. If not possible, don't worry about.
