Brown Widow? Spider found in grapes -- in OH - Latrodectus

Brown Widow? Spider found in grapes -- in OH - Latrodectus
Ohio, USA
May 26, 2005
This spider was found in some grapes that someone brought for lunch? Cannot ID, but looks kinda like a brown widow??

Hmmm
If I had to venture a guess I would say that it looks more like a immature black widow but its tough to say.

Agreed.
Immature Latrodectus indeed. Females lose most, or all, of the ornate markings as they age. Males, which mature sooner, retain them.
