Air Horse - Nematocampa resistaria

I was walking through a forested riparian corridor when I noticed this larvae suspended in mid-air by a silk thread. It writhed continuously and slowly but steadily ascended the thread toward the tree above. It looked like a tiny seahorse more than it did a caterpillar.
