Moved from Cherokia georgiana.

Well, Mt. Greylock eliminates Cherokia, which doesn't occur anywhere near New England. Based on the color pattern, the millipede can only be Sigmoria (Rudiloria) t. trimaculata (Wood) with a rougher exoskeleton than I'm used to seeing on this species.

Thanks Rowland!
If it helps on the locality, this was up on the top of Mt. Greylock, (the highest peak in the state), in the northwest corner of Massachusetts.

Cherokia georgiana georgiana (Bollman)
As other persons have commented, this photo does appear to be of Cherokia georgiana georgiana (Bollman), a representative of the Xystodesmidae (=Eurydesmidae) occurring in the southern Appalachian Mountains of NC, TN, & GA. I say this because of the roughened, "coriaceous" dorsum, the texture being evident in the photo. Contrast this texture with the smooth texture of Apheloria spp. in later photos. The Massachusetts locality makes no sense, and the locality must be wrong. Only 2 xystodesmids would be expected in the Berkshires of MA, Apheloria virginiensis corrugata (a banded species whose photo is elsewhere) and Sigmoria (Rudiloria) trimaculata trimaculata, which exhibits the middorsal spot pattern shown in this photo. However, the dorsum of S. (R.) t. trimaculata is smooth & glossy, not roughened as in this photo.

I think
this may be Cherokia georgiana as see here.

I think you're right
but I know so little about millipedes, that I'll just move it to the genus level. Thanks Lynette.
