The "pearls" by the base of the wings are prominent on the link. I hadn't noticed them on mine earlier. Neat little critter! Thanks for the ID.

 
"Pearls."
The "pearls" are "calypters." In calypterate muscid flies, they are very prominent. It is a good way to narrow the field of suspects to essentially the Muscidae, Sarcophagidae, Anthomyiidae, Tachinidae, Calliphoridae, and Scathophagidae. Hey, that is more of an accomplishment than it sounds:-)

That does sound like an accomplishment to me. A few months ago, I'd have thought this insect was a wasp.
