Cricket nymph
Columbia, Grindstone Park, Boone County, Missouri, USA
July 15, 2011
Found this little guy hiding under a rock next to a small isolation pool. Any ideas?

Neonemobius variegatus
I'd lean towards Neonemobius. There seems to be a black bar across the top of the head, and the abdominal pattern looks different from the other juvenile Allonemobius on bugguide

With that distinctive pattern, you'd think it would be easy
to identify. However, I don't have anything to cross-reference it with. I think it is a nymph of a Ground Cricket - subfamily Nemobiinae of the family Gryllidae.

Thanks
I'll probably try to head back out there tomorrow and see what types of adults are hopping around.
