Ant 2, on Spring Vetch - Prenolepis imparis
Little Basin, Group Picnic area, Santa Cruz County, California, USA
April 24, 2011
Size: sm
this location is about 8-12 miles north of my other location 9 days earlier, which was IDed as False Honey Ant (Prenolepis imparis) and this is also on a spring vetch flower.

Moved
Moved from ID Request. E.E. - I'm suspect you're right and you seem to know a lot about ants! If you're willing to fill out your bio. information on this site and mention your background in ant ID, it would help the editors when they move images. Thanks!

Another one
looks like you have another Prenolepis imparis here. The very long antennal scapes, small slanted petiolar scale, pilosity, and shape of the gaster are characteristic. I usually find Prenolepis (also called the Winter Ant) on flowers though they frequently nest in the ground.
