Longhorned Beetle - Eutrichillus biguttatus - female

Longhorned Beetle - Eutrichillus biguttatus - Female
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
July 18, 2011
Size: 8.3mm
Attracted to lights.

Moved tentativley. WOW.
Moved from Longhorned Beetles.

ID confirmed by Doug Yanega:
"This has a lot more strongly-contrasting colors than any specimen I ever saw of E. biguttatus, but I never did see very many (clearly not a common species); there is no question that it's a correct ID, however."

Nice
Another new one for the guide Thanks =v=!

pursue them vigorously, Tom. fetch us a male.
i'm still in a bit of a shock --didn't expect much of this beast at first...

male
Found a male at light in Concord, can automontage it for the page if helpful

absolutely
thanks in advance, Patrick.

I'll keep an eye out at the black light
My first impression was a Graphisurus fasciatus, but it didn't quite match up.

same here, verbatim:
[1] G. fasciatus, ewwww... => [2] what's with the pattern?

It must be the great minds thing:-)
