Good guess - one would have to see the cicada from above to see if the head is very short and narrow compared to the thorax (2/3 the width) to be sure of the genus. However, the white band across the base of the abdomen is distinctive of this species, as is the short beak.

Cacama furcata
Thanks - can now see the characters better. This is a browner species, with less white markings on the abdomen base than C. valvata, so it must be C. furcata, the only other species with a short beak.

Cacama furcata is the other one that seemed likely when I was trying to figure this guy out (with an old key in a paper I found online, don't remember the author offhand), but without having seen any of these guys before it's hard to know how brown the brown species are and how black the black ones are...
