unkn grasshopper - Arphia behrensi - Female
Kern Plateau, Sequoia Natl. Forest, Tulare County, California, USA
July 7, 2011
Size: ~2cm
These were common in mixed conifer forests at 8,000 ft. They flew for a long time when disturbed, had bright yellow wings and therefore were frequently mistaken for a sp. of sulphur butterfly. Can someone ID please.

this is a female Arphia behrensi
Moved from ID Request.

Thanks David
Really appreciate the ID. Got attached to these because on the first hundred occasions I thought I had an interesting butterfly to track, only to see it land and discover its true identity.
