Variegated June Beetle? with Mites? 1 of 3 - Polyphylla variolosa - Male
Wilton, Inland Barrens, Saratoga County, New York, USA
July 20, 2011
This June beetle species is common in my area, but this specimen had about 10 very hairy little mites hitchhiking on it. Wondering what mite this might be? :-) Kenny

sorry about the dumb mite move, Kenny; they're back where they belong. =v=

Moved from Lined June Beetles.

Moved from ID Request. I assume the other two images should go to the mite section?

I say...
keep them with the beetle for the association and then re-upload the same images for the mite section! :)

Done
No need to re-upload anything.

Maybe
Mesostigmata for the mite?
