Identify bee or wasp - Megachile perihirta - Female
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
August 3, 2004
Came across this in the garden. It was rather sluggish and didn't mind me getting close at all.

Moved

Leafcutter bee, Megachile sp.
Lovely photo of a female leafcutter bee, Megachile sp., showing the distinctive pollen brush on the underside of her abdomen. The hairs are orange in color, by the way, not stained by pollen.

Bee ID
Thank you so much for your help in ID'ing these insects. I'm putting together a web page on Bees, bugs and things and this is a great help.

Megachile, female.
It is a female. Megachile perihirta?
