At uv light. Most of the Symphypleona I saw looked like
B. christianseni
, and the rest looked like this.

If I had to guess, I'd say 1
If I had to guess, I'd say 1 of this form for every 2 of the other form, but I'm not sure. Thank you for the ID.

In Collembola, males are a minority. The sex ratio m/f can be down to 1/10. Possibly, the dark colour forms are males. But there is no mention of sexual dimorphism in colour pattern in the literature... So, the conclusion is tentative. Keep your eyes open for dark forms!

Last night at the same location, i was finding mostly the dark form. at least 3:1. But the dark form is also slightly easier to find, by virtue of its color.
