Cimbicid Sawfly - Cimbex americanus

Cimbicid Sawfly - Cimbex americanus
Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
June 1, 2006
Size: at least 20mm
I first saw this wasp flying ovet the edge of a field while it was sunny and hot, and I couldn't get close to it. Then the clouds moved in and I went back to where I'd seen it, and there it was just resting in the grass. Sometimes cloudy weather is good:-)

Thanks John
