I would say yes, based on my own experience that Hyphantria egg masses I've seen always have a varying greenish tint, verses the Spilosoma egg masses I've come across, which have all been to some degree yellowish. Not sure if that's diagnostic, but it's been the case in my own experience here in the SE.

Could be that. I wonder about the egg mass though. mine seems naked, but the one in the link you sent looks like it has hairs incorporated.
