Ledges State Park, Boone, Boone County, Iowa, USA

The long, linear mine with nearly continuous frass line is a Phytomyza, possibly P. ciliolati but that is currently only known from Alberta. The blotch must also be agromyzid, but it doesn't really match any described mines on aster leaves.

It looks to me like these are two separate mines
I'm pretty sure the linear mine is from an agromyzid; the blotch may also be but I'm less sure about that.
