Size: ~40-45 mm
From this angle, the dark spots at the wing bases, the dark wing tips, dark pterostigmas, red eyes (above suture) all show clearly, with a hint of the white face. This insect's preference for her favorite perches made photography much easier. We left a fallen dead flameleaf sumac at the edge of this clump of brush because the wintering sparrows used it, but in summer it seems to be a favorite insect perch. Handy...
