A gathering of Aphids - Uroleucon

A gathering of Aphids - Uroleucon
Brushy Creek Recreation Area, Mt. Tired, Fort Dodge, Webster County, Iowa, USA
July 30, 2011
I was going to remember what plant this was on, but waited too long! I believe they were on Sumac, but can you trust my memory?! gathering_2011

Moved from Aphids.

ID
Uroleucon

Thanks, James
It was hot and I was going to write down the name of the plant, but got sidetracked by a jumping spider!

Too hairy
I think this is probably a composite, not glabrous or at most finely pubescent sumac. The aphid looks to my noon-expert eye like a sunflower aphid.
