Thank-you!
Thank-you, Daniel! & Then would have to be P. calcarator, no? Henry and Froeschner say the other Nearctic species live only in the southwest or (one species) Florida. A master's thesis linkable from BugGuide's genus page describes two new species, but neither lives in the eastern U.S.

CORRECTION: I see the Dealy thesis reinstated P. alternatus, which has been reported from West Virginia and many other states. So that would give us two possibilities.

I've posted this additional pic with additional discussion:

Piezogaster images
In advance, thank you for the additional pic; I suspect you are right about the identity.

I was going to go through the Piezogaster images all at one time and try to get them sorted out properly; this would give me a better idea visually of what all the species look like. I was waiting for Dr. Packauska's revision to come out, but I've seen Dealy's thesis and I think Dr. Packauskas hinted that most of Dealy's conclusions were correct. Unfortunately, I have no idea how close to completion that revision is so maybe I should stop procrastinating and just get it done.
