scarab - Serica tristis - male

scarab - Serica tristis - Male
Topsham, Orange County, Vermont, USA
August 2, 2011
Size: 6.5mm
This male was hooked up (mating) with this female when I found them.

Moved
Moved from Serica.

ID based on examination of this male and its genitalia. Again, this species is extremely similar to S. sericea. I suspect a detailed study of the genus may find them to be the same species.

nice
nice work Tom
