Bee to ID - Merodon equestris - female Bee to ID - Merodon equestris - female

Clearly a female Merodon eque
Clearly a female Merodon equestris. This species comes in a lot of color variations but it is still easyly recognizable by its gestalt....

Merodon equestris
Thank you all for the info. They are a little confusing at times.

Merodon
Not sure this isn't M. equestris again. That recurrent bee-looking syrphid that is not a Mallota or a Eristalis. All have some bee mimics. But that recurrent vein way out there on the wing seems to be the Merodon feature to watch for. And that golden hair on the face.

Fly.
This guy is a syphid fly (actually a female). No idea what species.
IDed to family by the vena spuria, to sex by the gap between the eyes.
