This looks like classic flea beetle damage
- I'm thinking this is an eggplant leaf; am I correct? If so this is most likely eggplant flea beetle - see this site for more information.

I don't know how on earth you knew this was an eggplant, but thank you so much for the information! I'll be on top of this next season for sure. My eggplants all kicked the bucket this year, unfortunately...
