Clouded (?) Sulphur 809 - Colias eurytheme - male

Clouded (?) Sulphur 809 - Colias eurytheme - Male
Rochester, Monroe County, New York, USA
August 2, 2011
I was confident of my self-identification of Clouded until I read Kelly's and Corey's comments in this thread:

Narrowness of borders, submarginal spots, angular wings, darkness of scaling, darkness of overall yellow, smoothness of look, etc.

Mind-boggling redefined!! And I thought skippers were tough.

I see -0- light at the end of the tunnel until and if these are combined into one species. LOL

Looks like an Orange Sulphur to me
The dark border showing through from above is a tad narrow for an Orange, but it's a tad wide for a Clouded, so it's not as useful on this one as it often is; however, everything else about it looks like an Orange Sulphur (or Alfalfa Butterfly) - Colias eurytheme.
