Introduced species. Interesting. It doesn't seem to have made Phyllophaga any rarer (or has it?).

I don't know if the interactions between the many introduced scarabs and native species have been studied.

Indeed, it seems you are in an area where there is little at least that I can see from an amateur point of view. I was surprised though that this species had a common name!

How would that be studied, such interaction? Just raw counts of specimens?

I don't know for sure, but maybe surveying populations before and after introduction of the introduced species or comparing diversity between areas where it occurs and doesn't occur.
