This is a closeup view of the left extended wing taken at higher resolution still than the linked wing and elytron image, but from the same perspective. One can better see the scaly/beady texture of the long wing fibers.

This image is a CombineZP processed stack of 58 images with a 0.9 micron step taken with a Nikon CF BD 50X 0.80 NA infinity focus microscope objective + Nikon 200 mm F4 telephoto + Nikon D300 camera.
